• GUAVA Newsletter December 2025 is now available on the website. This edition is particularly special as it marks the fifth year of our annual newsletter, with a total of six issues (115 pages, 16 featured articles) published since its inception. What began as a vision to create a professional, low-pressure space for Vietnamese educators to share their voices and document collective expertise has grown into a steady forum for exchanging ideas and innovative practices. Highlights in this issue include:
  
  • President’s Message: A reflection on GUAVA's 32-year legacy and its transition to new leadership.
  • News & Updates: Highlights from the inaugural GUAVA Innovation Awards 2025 and the approval of our new Bylaws.
  • Featured Articles: Deep dives into teaching Vietnamese grammar, designing culinary workshops for cultural practice, the VietTBLT professional learning community, and the "Digitizing Việt Nam" initiative.
• GUAVA invites proposals for Session 2 of the GUAVA Member Highlight/Corner (AY 2025–2026), part of our series “GUAVA’s Best Practices in Teaching Vietnamese.” The GUAVA Member Highlight/Corner is a semesterly, informal Zoom space where Vietnamese language educators share classroom-tested practices, teaching ideas, and projects. Presenters will receive $20 Amazon gift card for their contribution.

• The Southeast Asian Language Council (SEALC) invites applications from Southeast Asian language instructors for Speaking and Writing Proficiency Assessment Design and Development Workshop and Teachers as Researchers: Publication Workshop. This program includes an in-person workshop for the U.S.-based instructors, hosted by the Asia Center at Harvard University, and a virtual workshop for Asia–based instructors. Application Deadline: January 16, 2026
