• GUAVA is pleased to invite submissions for the GUAVA Innovation Awards for Academic Year 2025–2026, celebrating outstanding, innovative, and transformative work in Vietnamese language education. Building on the success of last year’s inaugural awards, the GUAVA Innovation Awards highlight creative teaching practices and projects that advance Vietnamese language learning across online, hybrid, and in-person environments. These awards aim to recognize and share impactful ideas that inspire educators, strengthen our community, and contribute to a growing collection of exemplary practices in the field. • GUAVA members will present their research at the Fifth International Conference on Heritage/Community Languages, to be held at the University of California, Los Angeles, on February 27–28, 2026. Their presentations address key issues in Vietnamese heritage language education, including heritage language curriculum, task-based instruction, assessment of linguistic features among heritage learners, linguistic landscape analysis, and healthcare communication. Collectively, these contributions demonstrate GUAVA members’ scholarly leadership and commitment to research-informed, community-engaged heritage language education.

• The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) is offering the Proficiency Institute for Higher Education, a free, three-day, in-person professional development program in Baltimore, Maryland, designed for postsecondary language educators and researchers. Apply by April 15, 2026 to participate.
