  • GUAVA invite submissions for the GUAVA Innovation Awards for Academic Year 2025–2026. These awards aim to recognize and share impactful ideas that inspire educators, strengthen our community, and contribute to a growing collection of exemplary practices in the field. Deadline: March 15, 2026
  • GUAVA are delighted to announce that the upcoming GUAVA Member Highlights event will take place on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. (EST), featuring two projects by our members: Trang Phan & Chu Phong Lan on Vietnamese Vibes: The First Trilingual Vietnamese Textbooks in Italy and Ha Nguyen on Engaging with Vietnamese Sociolinguistics through Student-Centered Projects.   • SAILN [housed at San Diego State University as one of the Language and Applied Research Center (LARC) projects] is launching the Excellence in Less Commonly Taught Languages Award (ELLA). This award recognizes outstanding educators who demonstrate innovation, impact, and a deep commitment to teaching Less Commonly Taught Languages (LCTLs).   • Dr. Trang Phan (Ca’ Foscari University of Venice) successfully organized the 6th International Symposium on Vietnamese Linguistics (ISVL 6) on 26-27 February 2026. ISVL 6 brought together scholars working across Vietnamese phonetics/phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics/pragmatics, historical linguistics, areal typology, and corpus research.
