Become a GUAVA member!

Eligibility:

GUAVA membership is open to the following individuals affiliated with post-secondary or higher education institutions in the United States or abroad:

  • Full-time Instructors: Individuals with a full-time teaching position in Vietnamese as a foreign/second/heritage language at a post-secondary institution.
  • Part-time Instructors: Individuals with a part-time teaching position at a post-secondary institution.
  • Graduate Students: Currently enrolled graduate students with a focus on Vietnamese language pedagogy or related fields.
  • Foreign Language Teaching Assistants (FLTA): Individuals currently holding an FLTA position in Vietnamese at a post-secondary institution.
  • Retired Instructors: Individuals previously employed as instructors of Vietnamese at a post-secondary institution.

Membership Levels and Dues:

  • Full-time Instructor in the US:
    • Annual Membership: $30 USD
    • Two-Year Membership: $55 USD
  • Part-time Instructor, Full-time instructor outside the US, Graduate Student, FLTA, Retired Instructor, :
    • Annual Membership: $15 USD
    • Two-Year Membership: $25 USD

Benefits of Membership:

  • Full access to GUAVA’s academic resources and support for Vietnamese language instruction.
  • Opportunities to publish work in GUAVA newsletters.
  • Participation in professional development opportunities.
  • Eligibility for GUAVA travel grants, innovation awards, and innovation grants.
  • For Full-time Instructors (only): eligibility to hold office, and participation in shaping the organization’s future.

Renewal Cycle:


– For Fiscal Year (Jan to Dec), the dues are payable from Jan – March.
– For Academic Year (Aug to July), the dues are payable from June – August.

Payment Methods:

Please send membership dues by one of these:

  1. PayPal: Send to guavamerica@gmail.com and state in the subject line or in the
    note section the following: GUAVA dues for (your name, institution, amount,
    year)
    Note:
    – If sent from a US account: Please make sure to select the “send to friends”
    option, NOT the “pay for service/business” option to avoid the 3% business
    transaction fee.
    – If sent from an international account: Please kindly add $2.75 for PayPal
    international transaction fee.
  2. Check: Payable to Cornell University/GUAVA or Cornell University. Please
    mail your check to our Executive Secretary:
