GUAVA invites teachers and scholars from academic institutions who are teaching  and conducting research on Vietnamese language education to submit abstracts for presentations at the GUAVA 2024 Workshop.  The in-person presentation will be limited to 15 minutes.

Theme:  Effective Methods of Teaching and Learning Vietnamese. Topics may include, but are not limited to: 

  • Material and curriculum development
  • Using multi modalities  and approaches
  • Practical Application and Teaching Strategies  
  • Integration of AI Tools in the Vietnamese classrooms 
  • Collaboration with colleagues and students 

Submission Requirement

Please the following three items via email attachments to guavamerica@gmail.com

  1. An abstract proposal with the title, a brief description of your papers/presentation (250 words maximum).
  2. The presenter’s brief autobiography. 
  3. The presenter’s general information: your name, institution, email address, and  phone/WhatsApp number.

Abstract Submission Deadline:  July 31, 2024 

Notification of Acceptance:  August 15, 2024

Additional Information: 

  • This is an in-person event.  No Zoom links will be available for remote participants. 
  • The registration for the GUAVA workshop is free. 
  • All presenters are required to be paid members of GUAVA at the time of the workshop.

GUAVA 2024 Workshop is held in conjunction with the Southeast Asian  Language Council (SEALC) and will take place in-person, at Cornell University, September 19-22, 2024. 

GUAVA has a  limited number of modest travel allowances available for GUAVA members to travel to the September 2024 Workshop.  Please fill out  ALL of the questions below:
